NATIONAL YOUTH 1st LEG

National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Chairman and President Prospero "Butch" Pichay, Jr. announces the opening salvo of the country's chess activities for 2015 with the staging of the first leg of the National Youth Chess Championships for Boys and Girls under 15, under 13, under 11, under 9 and under 7 categories from January 29 to February 2, 2015 at the PSC Athletes' Dining Hall inside Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Philippines Sports Commission, P. Ocampo St., Manila.

The event is the first of three legs of elimination process culminating in a Grand Finals in April, the Champions in each category of which, will represent the country in the Asian Schools from May 30 to June 8 and the Asean+ Age Group Championships from June 8 to June 17, 2015 all at NTU in Singapore.

The tournament is being supported financially by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) in cooperation with the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).

Next event is the National Amateur Chess Championship to be held from February 5-10, 2015 at the same venue. Interested players who needed invitations for the tournaments may communicate with the NCFP through email address: ncfpsecretariat2012@gmail.com.
